The Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Licences and Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2026

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8 (7), 15 (8) and 24 (5) of the Private Security Industry Act 20011.
In accordance with section 24 (4) of that Act2, the Secretary of State has consulted with the Scottish Ministers, the Department of Justice in Northern Ireland and the Security Industry Authority.

1 Citation, commencement and extent

1 These Regulations may be cited as the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Licences and Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2026 and come into force on 1st June 2026.
2 These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

2 Amendments of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Licences) Regulations 2007

1 The Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Licences) Regulations 20073 are amended as follows.
2 In regulation 8 (fee to be paid on application for licence)—
a after paragraph (1) insert—

b omit paragraphs (2) and (3).
3 In regulation 9 (transitional provision)4
a the existing text becomes paragraph (1);
b after that paragraph insert—

3 Amendment of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Approved Contractor Scheme) Regulations 2007

In the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Approved Contractor Scheme) Regulations 20075, in regulation 5, for “£15” substitute “£25”.
