The Northern Ireland Policing Board (Northern Ireland) Order 2007

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Whereas a draft of this Order in Council has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1(1) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (c. 1), and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

1 This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Policing Board (Northern Ireland) Order 2007.
2 This Order shall come into operation on 26th March 2007.
3 The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 (c. 33) applies to this Order as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.

2 Modification of Schedule 1 to the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000

After paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 to the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 (c. 32) (membership of the Northern Ireland Policing Board: application of Parts II and III of the Schedule) insert—

3 Independent members of the Policing Board

1 In paragraph 6(2) of that Schedule (which defines expressions for the purposes of Part III of that Schedule) insert at the end—
2 In paragraph 8 of that Schedule (independent members of the Northern Ireland Policing Board) after sub-paragraph (4) insert—

4 Chairman and vice-chairman of the Policing Board
