Lord TomlinsonLabour (Co-op)- Quote
- My Lords, briefly, perhaps I may express my gratitude for the support of three different groups on this Bill. First, I thank the Treasury for all its help in the redrafting of various clauses to overcome the objections that came from two Select Committees of your Lordships’ House. That work is very much appreciated. Secondly, I thank the opposition parties and the Cross Benches for collaborating so readily in giving the Bill a fair wind during this Session of Parliament. Thirdly, I thank my right honourable friend Malcolm Wicks for all the spadework he has done in another place. I hope that he encounters the same collaborative atmosphere in which to pursue the Bill when it goes back to the other place as I have had in this House.
