- We hope that the Bill will achieve Royal Assent by next summer. The current programme indicates that the project design work would be concluded by early 2009 in time for the construction procurement process and the start of the enabling works. Main construction of the scheme would begin in 2010, and we expect the first trains to run in 2017 as part of a 12 month build up to the full Crossrail service.
