2026 Chapter 17

An Act to make provision about the maximum number of salaries that may be paid under the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 in respect of certain Ministerial offices.

Enacted [29th April 2026]
Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

I11 Ministerial salaries

In paragraph 2 of Part 5 of Schedule 1 to the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 (maximum number of salaries that may be paid in respect of certain Ministerial offices)—
a in paragraph (a) (Secretaries of State), for “21” substitute “22”;
b in paragraph (b) (Secretaries of State and Ministers of State), for “50” substitute “54”;
c in paragraph (c) (Secretaries of State, Ministers of State and Parliamentary Secretaries), for “83” substitute “94”.

I22 Extent, commencement and short title

1 This Act extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
2 This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.
3 This Act may be cited as the Ministerial Salaries (Amendment) Act 2026.
